Job Summary
The CNC Machine Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the CNC machining department. This role ensures efficient scheduling, quality assurance, workforce supervision, machine maintenance, and adherence to safety standards. The manager will lead a team of machinists and technicians to produce high-quality parts while meeting production goals and continuous improvement objectives. This position is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of CNC milling and turning departments (including multi-axis and high-precision machining).
- Plan and prioritize job orders to meet customer deadlines and program requirements.
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of machinists, technicians, and setup operators.
- Enforce AS9100D quality procedures and collaborate with QA to ensure part compliance.
- Partner with Engineering on tooling, fixturing, and manufacturability improvements.
- Oversee setup times, tool management, and fixture utilization.
- Monitor and improve productivity, scrap rates, and machine utilization.
- Maintain 5S standards and a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
- Manage equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
- Support quoting processes by estimating time, tools, and labor for new parts.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
- 2+ years of supervisory or management experience in a machine shop environment.
- Proficient in G-code, GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision measuring tools.
- Hands-on experience with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Understanding of AS9100D and ITAR compliance requirements.
Preferred:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with DoD contracts, NADCAP, or defense subcontractor audits.
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.

Job Overview
We are a rapid prototyping production facility specializing in low volume, high quality part manufacturing. Our customers include private inventors, Fortune 500 companies, universities, and the US government.
We are looking for an experienced Lathe Machinist to join our team. This position is NOT an entry level position. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of part planning, programming, setting up, troubleshooting, and running lathes with live tooling parts in a safe and efficient manner.
Duties and responsibilities
- Works from drawings and/or specifications with little direction from supervisor.
- Plan, program, and machine complex parts in a variety of materials ranging from soft plastics to super alloys.
- Utilize MasterCAM to produce effective tool-paths and cutting strategies.
- Understand and deploy proper feeds/speeds for materials.
- Accurately perform in-process inspections while machining parts.
- Coordinate with other machinists on multi operation parts.
- Track actions by completing production and quality documentation.
- Provide on-the-job training to other employees in the department.
- Develop and maintain lathe tooling.
- Work safely and comply with all established safety rules and work practices.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 5 years lathe machining and programing experience with a 2 year or equivalent Machining/CNC Technology degree or certificate.
- Experience in measuring lathe-oriented GD&T
- Experience with Haas machines.
- Strong understanding of G&M codes.
Working conditions
The Proto Technologies machine shop is in a climate-controlled building in Liberty Lake WA. The applicant can expect to work 3 or 4 days a week depending on the shift with the opportunity for occasional overtime. Manual lifting and pushing of 50 LBS will be required occasionally.

Qualifications
- Skills – Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet challenging deadlines with minimal supervision. Applicants must also have a strong attention to detail, and good communication skills.
- Education – Minimum High School Diploma preferred.
- Availability – Ability to work Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours as workload demands.
- Helpful Experience – Though not required, previous experience with, sanding, painting and color matching, 3D printing, model kit assembly, and experience working with medical devices, aerospace parts, and a fabrication or auto body prep background preferred.
- Adaptability and Flexibility – Capable of handling a constantly shifting set of priorities and often challenging timelines.

Job Overview
The Urethane Casting Technician will be responsible for creating cast urethane parts to customer specifications. This will include mixing materials, injecting into silicone molds, maintaining cast urethane equipment, part cleaning and finishing
An understanding of mold splits, undercuts, venting/gating and other basic molding techniques, and methods a plus. In addition, your experience should include knowledge of basic shop equipment (including band and table saws, end-mill, and drill press), measuring tools and devices, and understanding of the characteristics of silicones, urethanes, and epoxies, and a basic understanding of computers.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Perform urethane measuring and mixing, color matching and casting to produce prototype and production parts
· Understand two-part silicone molds utilizing SLA finished masters as the pattern
· Ensure careful removal of parts, cleaning of molds, and perform detailed inspection
· Trimming, repairing, and cleaning parts to meet customer delivery schedules
· Keep accurate project data sheets for the cast urethane projects to enable consistent results for recurring orders
Qualifications
1. Basic understanding of silicone molds, mold venting, release agents and gravity casting.
2. High School Diploma/GED/and/or years of equivalent education required
3. Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English Language
4. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instruction to other employees in a professional and respectful manner
Working conditions
Casting Technician will be working in a shop environment while using post curing ovens, impact wrenches, hand drill, and variety of silicone and urethane materials.

Job Description
Job Purpose
The Quality Control Lead Technician plays a key role in maintaining product quality and compliance within our manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for overseeing quality control activities, coordinating daily inspection schedules, and ensuring that all products meet customer requirements and AS9100D standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily quality inspection activities to support production needs.
- Coordinate inspection priorities and assign tasks to quality control team members.
- Complete inspection planning and review inspection documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform and oversee first article inspections in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
- Facilitate new product integration and verification activities within the production environment.
- Perform first part, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Ensure inspection equipment is properly calibrated and facilitate calibration activities.
- Support and lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) initiatives.
- Maintain inspection schedules, monitor progress, and communicate status updates to production and management.
- Accurately complete and review manufacturing and inspection documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between production, engineering, and quality teams regarding inspection-related issues.
- Provide training and guidance to other technicians as needed to support consistent inspection practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Proficient in dimensional inspection of detail parts and assemblies.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
